Rachel Long, Operations Director, East Bay SPCA - Rachel joined the East Bay SPCA as a volunteer in 1999 after completing her MBA in non profit management from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. She quickly decided shelter life was better than investment banking and was given additional responsibilities until she was promoted to the Director or Operations managing two shelter, three veterinary clinics and over 50 employees.

Rachel's interest in pit bulls stems from her desire to ensure all adoptable animals get a chance to find great homes. She worked with BADRAP to pilot Pit Bull Hall, going as far as evaluating dogs for intake, fostering dogs, taking training classes and doing home checks to learn as much about pit bulls as possible.
