Partners in Shelter Services
BAD RAP and Animal Farm Foundation are working together to better assist shelters with practical resources, programs and support for sheltered pit bulls and their adopters.

We offer:

  • Education Materials for your staff and adopters.
  • Workshops geared towards: Building a Breed Ambassador Program, Evaluating and Training Techniques, Creating Effective Outreach Programs, Kennel Enrichment, Dog Socializing, Compassion Programs.
  • Pit Ed Camp: A week-long breed intensive training camp for shelter professionals.

    Training Opportunity:
    Pit Ed Camp

    Hands-on training for improving your skills. Four times a year, a animal care professionals from around the country gather in shelters in and around Oakland, CA to work with sheltered pit bulls alongside BAD RAP staff and volunteers. Groups are small to allow for full participation. Campers receive expert coaching for improving handling skills and bevals, for creating successful adoption programs, tried and true techniques for keeping kenneled dogs healthy and happy, ways to identify the best adoption candidates, and developing effective outreach programs to help turn the tide for the dogs in our communities.
